Different Ways God is Revealed

In Islam, the angel Gabriel supposedly was sent to reveal Allah’s will to Muhammad.  Muhammad was not given insight into the nature, character, personality or identity of Allah.  He was given Allah’s designated plan that man was commissioned to implement.

Jehovah God, in contrast, revealed Himself to Abraham, who He called friend. He conversed with Moses, giving Moses His name and showing himself to Moses (although not face to face).  We read repeatedly in the Bible, “Thus saith the Lord,” not just to one prophet through an angel, but directly to the prophets.  The God of the Bible has revealed Himself through the giving of various names that describe His character, His attributes and His identify.
