The Beleaguered Christians: Campus Crusade drops Christ

Many faithful Christians feel that Campus Crusade for Christ’s announcement to drop Christ from their name is one more confirmation that there is a wholesale departure from the bedrock foundation of their faith. A woman recently asked me, “Where will this end?”  Certainly, she is not alone in feeling overwhelmed and confused at the changes taking place today.

While I am not one who questions the motives of CCCI’s current leadership’s decision to drop “Christ” out of their name, I do question the wisdom of their timing.  In a time when political correctness has run amuck and the name of Christ has been eliminated from many Christian organizations (like The Christian Children’s Fund which is now ChildFund International), the faithful feel that Campus Crusade’s decision is yet another rug pulled out from under them.

Some Christians are rightly skeptical of CCCI Vice President Sellers’ words assuring them that, “…the ministry will still be committed to proclaiming Christ around the world.”

Sadly, these Christians have history on the side of their skepticism.  When organizations in the past have found it necessary to downplay their Christian roots, for whatever reason, they always assured everyone that, “Our mission will remain the same.”  Unfortunately, it oftentimes does not.

Take, for example, an organization known as The Fellowship Foundation.  It was founded in 1935 by godly men who realized that politicians in the nation’s capital were in desperate need of Christ and His power.  The current leaders have slowly but surely moved far away from this founding purpose. Today, they feel compelled to include Jewish and Muslim elements in their annual National Prayer Breakfast held in Washington, D.C.  Yet, the changes began by saying that they just did not like the term “Christian.”

As a pastor, I hear the pain in the words of many Christians when they talk about how one super mega church pastor, when squeezed by a non-believer on secular television on whether Christ is the only way to salvation, ended up waffling.  Another super mega church pastor apologized to homosexuals and Muslims for biblical stands that he previously held.  As the lady said to me, “Where will this end?”

Every few weeks it appears that some super-duper mega church pastor who built his ministry and his reputation on biblical orthodoxy grabs the headline news by denying the very things that he once claimed to believe.

The tragedy of all tragedies is that the reason Campus Crusade for Christ was successful around the world was precisely because they overtly identified with Christ.  When Mr. Sellers declared that the name of Christ was hampering their effectiveness, he placed “expedience” above the supernatural power that Christ promised to those who identify with His name.  It was not CCCI’s methods or clever techniques that blessed them in the past, but the very Christ whose name they now have removed.

It leads me to wonder if the current leadership feels so secure with their sizeable endowment that they no longer feel wholly dependent on Christ, trusting Him alone to accomplish His mission through the ministry and provide for their needs.  Clearly it is a question that we all need to ponder. Jesus taught that money (mammon) rivals for the allegiance and affections of His followers.  This is why all Christians and Christian institutions must be extremely careful lest mammon move us away from our foundation, Christ, the very reason for our existence.

I say a daily prayer that has intensified in my life the older I get: “Lord, keep me more faithful in my latter days than in the previous ones, and if I am not…take me home to glory.”

Everyone is welcome to join me in this prayer.

Thank you Pastor. I have been a part of the Seeker movement in the past and know well of its process of removing Christ, and even church from its name. Yes, a church, or para church can remain or exist as a force for Christ without His name in their letter head or on the arches of their doorways. But as you said so well, the wisdom in their timing sends the wrong message, and history shows that this kind of decision often becomes the catalyst for a "great downgrade".
I have read books written by great Christian men and women (my elders in the faith) whom I have followed through the years, just to find that they have compromised with the landscape of the world at large - a slippery slope. I will pray your prayer for my own life, and may we all be filled with the Truth, while abounding in Love, until we ascend to Glory!
Thank you brother Youssef,
Carl

How many of us will "be ashamed" when Jesus returns at all the ways we have taken Him out of His rightful place? If this saddens us, can we imagine how He feels?

that might be a danger..
but is this matter of what you have in your name or is matter of how faithful and commited are tocause of Christ...

let s wait a little a bit and see

Amen, dear brother, amen. So sad. Was on CCC's staff in the 60's, and know staff still.....the offense of the cross cannot be borne by so many Christians today, so we must make everything palatable to the world.

But, is not declension over time not an unavoidable absolute for every organization? Both scripture and history would seem to so indicate. The letters to the churches in Revelation start to all, but always end with a call to the individual - "Let him who has an ear to hear......."

As you said, only we as individuals MUST continue to press on...it's not how we start - it's how we finish that counts.

When I saw this in the news last week, that Campus Crusade for Christ was changing to "Cru", I was completely speechless. All I could think about was what you have been preaching about for many months now. It is disheartening that Christians around the world are continuing to take His name our of their organizations, in order to reach more people for Him?? The irony of it baffles me, saddens me, and concerns me. Jesus was never politically correct in His speech and we should not be either. May we stand strong and courageous in these challenging times and wear our armor everyday. Ephes 6:10-18

We stopped supporting Campus Crusade last year as our daughter, in college, was discouraged at their meeting at Ga State. They were lacking accountability and seemed to be okay with IHOP. So this taking out Christ, unfortunately, has not surprised me. Now Campus Crusade seems to be on their Own Crusade. LIke you, I have prayed for years, Lord, take me before I ever wonder far from You. And I teach that to our children. If the Bible is ever taken from them, the one truth they must hold on to is that He is the Only Way!!! Hold tight to that Truth!!!! As our children are leaving the nest....going out into the World....I am so glad to say, they are being wise before joining a Christian Campus group and questioning their Biblical teachings. Thank you for staying in the Truth!!!! Our children have grown up in Church of the Apostles and would not have had it any other way.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention Michael... Friends, how can we say that we love Jesus Christ, how can we call on Him in our time of need if we remove His name from our view? If we water down the very purpose for which Christian organizations were founded then how can they ever be effective for Christ? It hurts my heart to see people wearing crosses around their necks for fashion "bling" with no regard for the powerful meaning of that symbol... but who can blame the "fashionistas" for wearing the symbol of sin foriven, of the promise of God's love and eternal salvation through the blood of His only Son, Christ - if WE the CHRISTIANS are afraid to speak His name? They have no idea what the cross means, because Christians are hiding. People NEED the Lord, will we not feed His sheep, or we too afraid of offending people to save them? God bless you Michael for making us aware of this growing trend. I look forward to reading your new book!

I agree with you 100% percent, Pastor. I posted my shock and disbelief on FB last week, and many were so casual about the responses... "They won't change their mission", "If it will help them reach more people, it is ok." It seems the evil one is having his way bit, by bit, ...taking the name of Christ from view and having it become "politically incorrect" Everyone seems to be worried about offending every group EXCEPT Christians. My heart is still grieving over this.

I'm a Catholic who believes that Christ is the light of the world, so here's a Catholic perspective. I see the almost complete collapse of mainline Protestantism in the US in my lifetime. And I can't help wondering if that's not the real unspoken reason why this country is going to hell in a hand basket. What the heck happened?

God knows the Catholic Church has her problems. However, it becomes increasingly evident that in another generation, the Catholic Church will be the only Christian institution left standing, as it has stood for 2000 years, as it was instituted by Christ himself who promised to be with her until the end of time. Maybe this is the reason that there's a crucified Christ above every Catholic altar.

Is it any coincidence that, after seeing this article in Facebook, just a few entries below it is an entry from "The Bible":

John 11:35 "Jesus wept."

The bible speaks to "the falling away of the church in the latter days" and it appears that this prophesy is coming to fruition. Political correctness is created by athiests who want the beautiful name of Christ removed from everything. I wear a beautiful cross that brings many questions when people notice it, it's called a "promise cross" which has many colored stones in it...I explain the colors are that of the Rainbow that God gave Noah after the flood, the purple one in the center represents Christ who is the center of all things, the beginning and end, the Alpha and Omege and only truth. I use it to witness for Christ, that and the fact that I love the beauty of it which is a constant reminder or my Lord and Savior. He is over my heart and in my heart and that statement is made by me. Our enemy, Satan is working very very hard on this earth to destroy and take away Gods sheep. Those is us who are firmly in Christ must do our best to witness by our actions, words and deeds that represent the Glory of God. We may have to be bold and step out for Christ. Thank you Dr Youssef for your boldness, you give me encouragement to do the same. It's our job to stand firm for Christ in these last days. We must remember that we are sowers and hope that the seeds we plant land on fertile ground.
July 29, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterCarolejane
And then AFTER writing my first comment, I read the daily devotional, "Qualified by Obedience", Noah being one of my bible hero's for his obedience. That was a WOW moment. Stay the course fellow Christians, stay true to God. Obey and witness. Be sowers for the Kingdom of Heaven and stand strong. Don't be fooled by counterfeits, pray for discernment. God hears our every word and does what is best. His way is the only way. Thank you Dr. Youssef for our daily devotionals. They really do make a difference. God Bless YOU....and your wonderful family who all work so hard for Christ.

There is at least one segment of our culture where the name of Jesus Christ is getting more and more play; that's in the dialogue in movie and TV drama scripts, according to my limited exposure, where the name of our Lord and Savior is being spewed from the mouths of actors as cursing. The producers would not dare so use the names of the major figures of other "faiths" thusly, as their followers would rise up in self-righteous anger. But where is the outcry from Christians? Come on, Brother. There are more serious issues facing the church than whether or not Mr. Obama is re-elected.

To me when any organiztion or indiviigual removes the Name of Christ from their agenda
they have denied Christ's exsistence in their lives and organizations. We as Christians need
to understand that our strength andour very exsistence depends on Christ and not ourselves.
These folks need Much Prayer.

Thank you so much for writing this, Michael. I wept last week when I heard it. I called their Corporate office and they put me into a voicemail.
I also wrote a blog about this. But the disheartening thing is many in their organization say God led them to this new name and their mission is still the same.
We truly are in the last days and I am thankful that you continue to stand up for our LORD!

If a name change seems necessary then I would say drop the first portion and leave the second half "For Christ".
July 29, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJanet
It seems that if they are "sensitive" about the impact that the name of Christ has, then they should also be sensitive to the term "crusade" as it has a very negative connotation to those poor Mohammedans.

They should just go all the way with the name change and call themselves "CAMPUS" that will really get their message across!

Our Lord Jesus reigns and rules, be at peace, they will stand before his throne too !

Are you kidding me?! Am I supposed to start calling myself an "ian" now too?! NO WAY! They can't take CHRIST out of everything! As a CHRISTian, I will not remove Him from the foundation I have built my life upon! These organizations are doing a tragic thing and diluting the purpose of the organization, by removing Christ’s name from their foundation and founding purpose- to bring the celebration of Christ to the campus! He is supposed to be the true focus of their organization, and they have stripped Him from view. Makes me think of the verse in Casting Crowns’ song, American Dream… “I’ll take a shack on a rock, over a castle in the sand”… sums up what type of Organizations I will support! And as for CC, and other organizations, that are on the slippery slope of political correctness- I say to you, “Kyrie Eleison”! … Lord have mercy!

Cru is NOT ashamed of the name of Christ. As a former staffer, I have heard from several current staff. Cru is already know by many different names around the world such as AGAPE. And, many godly organizations have never had the name of Christ in them but are, nonetheless, completely sold out for the Lord- groups like Young Life, Navigators, RUF etc. Should we decry them for not ever having the name of Christ in their titles? Cru found on campus that when they were doing outreaches, students would more often walk away without listening when they discovered the name Campus Crusade for Christ. More doors were open to non-believers to begin relationships with Cru staff and students that eventually lead to being able to share the Gospel with the name Cru. The mission is unwavering. Please go talk to a current Cru staff person or go to their website if you don't know anyone before questioning the motives of this wonderful ministry that is 100% sold out and committed to the Great Commission.

I am on staff in Southwest Missouri. I am based out of Springfield, and work on several of the universities in the area including Missouri State, Missouri Southern State, and Drury. If you live around there I would encourage you to come and check out our ministry on the campuses. We have called our movements Cru for quite sometime, and yet we have been and always will be fully committed to the message of Jesus Christ. He is central to everything we are as christians and as an organization. Having Christ in the name does not mean an organization is committed to "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8), nor does it mean an organization without Christ in their name is not committed to that. There have been many examples in history of both. I can understand your concern with the changing of our name if it was because we wanted to remove Christ from it, but you have been mislead by media and headlines. We changed our name from campus because it no longer represented our scope as a whole ministry, we are much more than just campus ministry. We changed our name from crusade because it is offensive and representative of a time in history when a lot of terrible things were done in the name of Christ that should not have been. We never sought to remove Christ from our name. If you have more questions here is the link to our FAQ and other sources about the name change.

Gwen, the difference is that those groups did not remove the name of Christ from their organizations. If "Cru" had started as Cru, this would not be an issue. The fact is that the name of Christ WAS in the name of the organization, and has since been removed. Please don't give the argument that taking the name out of it has opened more doors to unbelievers, that implies that we are the one's who draw people to Christ, when we know He is the one who opens our eyes. Could you imagine the Apostle Paul writing a letter that says, don't use the name of Christ when speaking with others. No! The bible says, you will be persecuted for that name, but we also know that at that name every knee will bow and tongue confess that JESUS is LORD!

Danny,
If your intention was to get rid of the "crusade" part, and the "campus" part, one would assume you would keep Christ, and not Cru, which from my understanding is short for CRUSADE!

I was surprised to read this blog post and the comments that followed. I have been on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ for 23 years and am startled by the uniformed comments and dialogue that have been raised by this blog posting. Jesus is very central to CCC....with or without the name. It seems Dr. Yousef that you have only read the recent headlines from sensational new’s outlets that were looking for a good story. Unfortunately they have misled many.

In your header you x’d out Christ. You should have also "x"ed out "Campus," "Crusade," and "for." It was a complete name change. CCC is much more than "Campus" and does not care to be associated any longer with the negative connotations that "crusade" raises and thus keeps us from reaching people who immediately draw conclusions as to our intentions (based on a name). Cru is a name that has been used on many campuses since 1995. The ministry in this time accelerated the proclamation of Jesus as we grew from 150 movements on US campuses to over 1,000 campus movements with hundreds of thousands coming to salvation in Jesus.

This name change affords a second conversation. I cannot tell you how many times, conversations have been halted simply by responding to who I work for. The hearer draws their own conclusions and as a result, the name of Christ is shared (in the title of the organization I represent) but the message of His Gospel is hindered, never giving me a chance to explain about what we do or why we do what we do.

I do not question the motives and mission of the Passion Movement, Leading the Way, Navigators, Right From the Heart, Church of the Apostles, Northpoint Community Church, Perimeter Church, Saddleback, Willow Creek or a myriad of other Jesus proclaiming ministries and churches that do not include the name “Jesus”, “Christ,” or “God” in their titles. When you say you work for Leading the Way, you have an opportunity to explain what you do. You are more than often afforded a second conversation to explain what you do. I have not had that experience with non-Christians when I tel them who I work for. But that is not the only reason for the name change. For more information on the name change from the CCC website, please go to: http://www.ccci.org/about-us/donor-relations/our-new-name/commitment-to-christ.htm

Most sad to me however, is the misleading implication that CCC and Steve Sellers (whom I know personally and respect deeply as a Christ-follower) made this name change for financial expediency. “It leads me to wonder if the current leadership feels so secure with their sizeable endowment that they no longer feel wholly dependent on Christ, trusting Him alone to accomplish His mission through the ministry and provide for their needs.”

Stating that CCC was "resting on a sizable endowment" was both uniformed and misleading. CCC, a founding member of the ECFA has an impeccable reputation of being excellent stewards. Exactly what endowment are you referring to? The $500 million brought annually into the ministry provides the modest salary for 10,000+ missionaries (all of whom raise their own support)--an average staff make less than $40,000 a year. In addition these donations underwrite the vast amount of projects CCC sponsors to proclaim Jesus on campus, in the city and throughout the world. Take the Jesus Film for one, which has been translated into over 1100 languages and has had 5 billion exposures to the Gospel. It would be one thing to criticize this ministry if we were guilty of not proclaiming Christ and simply living off its reputation or supposed “sizable endowment.”

Unfortunately, our American culture is more prone to follow sensational headlines from news media (even the most conservative one out there) as opposed to asking the ministry leaders themselves what motivated them to change the name. May Christ continue to be glorified and may the work of Cru continue with great fruitfulness bringing all the glory to God. I am happy to provide a more informed response and links to statements from CCC that will help clarify the ministry’s process and decision.

Thanks for the 'heads-up' Pastor Youssef, but I've been wondering since I heard the story on 'The Hal Lindsey Report', if anyone noticed who Campus Crusade for Christ said they were having problems with here, "EUROPE", sadly most of which have tried their backs (or so it seems) on the Lord, and who would perfer that we not even 'mention' the Lord's (or God's) name??

Since it is the Lord Himself who does the drawing of souls, then why would there be even a slight pause to change anything that has to do with God or Jesus Christ?? Does not the CCFC realize that this is yet another 'tactic' of the enemy to try and stop the Gospel, and that sadly too many are playing right into his hands, although the CCFC states emphatically, "this will not hinder them from proclaiming God's Word"?? I just don't understand how people say that they love God and Jesus Christ, but have a problem with proclaiming "their name" despite what society says or does?? God help and have mercy on us. Jesus Christ IS coming very soon.

Since Mr. Sellers stated that it was the word 'Crusades' that was causing the 'problems, then how about just calling it "Campus for Christ"?? Problem solved right or is that too much as well???

Hey Bea...

That wouldn't be sufficient actually, because Campus Crusade is far more than a campus ministry. It started on campus in 1951, but now has ministries to families, military, marketplace people, the inner city, high school students, and 48 other segments of society. Campus doesn't describe the scope of the mission now, so Campus had to go. And Crusade had to go for reasons we all know, and from what I know of those on staff, they love Christ very much but are humble enough not to believe they are Christ and should just call themselves the remaining option, "Christ" (although I guess "For Christ" would be a weird name but an option)

Also, on the press release website, "Cru" actually is not suppose to be short for Crusade (although that's obviously where they derived it from), but it's a new word for the organization. On the site, it says: "Cru: A caring community passionate about connecting people to Jesus." From what I understand, that is the phrase they want Cru to be known for in years to come, no matter where you interact with them...on campus, later in life in the workplace, at a FamilyLife marriage weekend, etc. From what I know about Cru staff, they will live that out. And that descriptive tagline of Cru certainly doesn't sound ashamed of Christ.

So, before everyone keeps going on and on with this bashing speculation and borderline slander, which is sin, i would talk to a staff person you know personally about it, and then give it 2 years to see if they have lived out their commitment and purpose of doing this--which is to supposedly help more people encounter Jesus by their unashamed commitment to Jesus and his Great Commission. If that hasn't happened, and you see that it's indeed a slippery slope of PC lived out over the next 2 years, then start the calling out.

One last food for thought, God called Bill Bright to do some crazy things in his 52 years in ministry, that many in the body of Christ bashed at the time...but went on to greatly glorify God (first in the list is the Jesus Film...many made fun of him for pursuing the movie that is still used today by many church planting org's to reach unreached people groups.) My bet it is, Bill Bright would have done this himself...because if you watch the videos of Steve Sellers responding to the FoxNews backlash, he says something that someone worried about PC would not say: "If we as organization gets hammered in the media, but Jesus himself gets talked about nationwide, I can live with that. We are here to make Jesus known." God is concerned about his Glory, even more than a less-PC America...God could actually be the one orchestrating this, despite your apparent confident beliefs. If more people REALLY come to encounter and know Jesus Christ under this new name than the old, I am betting God could care less about one less organization having Christ in the name, as long as they are proclaiming His name.

So check your own spirit with THE Spirit, before you slander a Christ follower (and an org with a 60 year history of exalting Christ) on something that is an opinion level belief about a name change...And give it 2 years to evaluate how Cru is living out their calling. May God continue to use CCC/Cru to glorify Himself in even greater ways. From the people I know involved in the organization, and the amount of ways they share their faith more regularly than most Christ-followers, my bet is, they will.
July 29, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterDavid
PS...Their new logo next to the word Cru is described as the 4 corners of the world coming together at the fulfillment of the Great Commission, when every tongue, tribe, and nation has been reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

uh, that doesn't sound very PC to me. Read and watch their stuff before commenting please!

I was attending in the church where they were teaching : You don't need to repent to be a christian, even, you don't have to know that you're a sinner. The assembly were claiming a big Alleluia,,,,I think it's time the Christian may have to stand for their faith.

We need a minister like yours to keep the faith to the end.

If you are living missionally and personally/frequently sharing your faith effectively with friends and co-workers you know who do not believe in Jesus (and seeing God do the work of bringing people come to Christ through you), then cast the first stone.

If you rarely express your faith in a real way to those around you who do not Christ, although you attend church regularly and are growing in the Lord...Then you be the first to repent as a Pharisee before calling CCC to.
July 30, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMichael
God has used CCC/Cru to be on the front lines engaging the lost on their turf (not just talking about it) and seeing many come to Jesus...I am not sure they are the ones needing to be called out here. I would trust their motives. Using Matthew 9 as an example, I am not so sure of a lot of the commenters here would find themselves as the scowling Pharisees in the story, and Cru staff and volunteers as the one being "Jesus" throwing a party and interacting with the "tax collectors and sinners." "It is the not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick."

May God unify those in the body in the Christ really seeking to glorify Him! This post by Michael Youssef seems lacking in discernment and full knowledge (and Jesus's heart).

I too was surprised at the name change since i used to be a campus crusader - but on the other hand i got to thinking about all the organizations who DON'T have Christ in the name, yet have survived and prospered: Young Life, Navigators, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Intervarsity, Reformed Fellowship, etc. - they have all stuck to their guns and proclaim Christ - Campus Crusade/ Cru will be no different - let's not turn our guns on the very people who are and have made a difference in our generation, spreading the gospel to millions of people. Let's instead shoot our guns at the enemy who wants us to do this very thing. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood (people) but against satan who wants us to believe people are our problem. Let's wake up to the attacks of the enemy and call it what it is. Campus Crusade will endure as long as their mission remains to spread the good news to those sitting in darkness. - Sally Meredith

It pains me deeply to see a Christian leader slander another Christian leader, even going so far as to suggest that one is a liar. Have you followed the biblical injunction to call Mr. Sellers personally before publicly denouncing his motives? God takes it seriously when you bring damage to the Body of Christ without merit. The unity of the body is of utmost importance given the attacks on her worldwide today. Having just read of Campus Crusade for Christ removing Christ's Name is mind blowing. I'm truly agast at such a decision. It looks like huge compromise to me. Not by power or might (mammon) but by My Spirit says the Lord. Do you think the Spirit of the Lord feels blessed? I'm not being judgemental but rather confused to why...it's like praying and not using the Name of Jesus, in order not to be offensive?!

Before expressing these views, did you meet face to face with members of your own congregation who are full-time staff members of Campus Crusade (and who raise their own support). I wonder how they will feel sitting in your pews this Sunday??? CCC staffers are the most aggressive evangelists I know, and better than most pastors I have seen at BOLDLY proclaiming Christ. You may owe them an apology.....

Pastor Youssef
As all these churches become secularized and become less tranditional and more comtemporary, you see less hymns sung, less Bible taught, only certain areas of the church with a cross, less "Sunday School," and more organizations giving in to the world. When was the last time you went to a Wednesday night prayer meeting or a Sunday night service. No churches in our area even have a Good Friday Service.
Why because this world is controlled more and more by Satan, the great decieiver who has now basically deceived Campus Crusade for Christ that Christ's name is not important. The name above all names is based on their own press release;
"It is true that we care more about effectively proclaiming the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ than we do about having the word “Christ” in our name. The only name that matters is Jesus and what matters most is connecting people to the name that gives life." This entire statement seems to be so contradictory.
Why not add Jesus, Campus Crusade for Jesus Christ?
CRU almost sounds like a street gang moniker!
Where will this end was commented? It will end when Christ returns.

To "C"....

It's because it's not about an impression or facade or just a name. It's about really having conversations about the great, powerful, sovereign person and name of Jesus Christ. They are less concerned about appearing spiritual, than they are actually living missionally and talking about Jesus to the billions of lost people in the world.

"Where will this end?" you ask...Seems like CCC/Cru completely agrees with your response, " It will end when Christ returns." Their new logo represents the 4 corners of the world--every tongue, tribe, and nation--knowing Christ when the Great Commission is fulfilled and Christ returns.

You are causing unnecessary destruction to the body of Christ and a army of front lines Great Commission laborers (CCC/Cru). Your battling the wrong enemy. Someone in tune the Christ returning would pick up on this.

What we do may not be as important as WHY we do it. God who is Omniscient is the only infallible Judge.
But let's be mindful of a systematic trend to intimidate Christians to become ashamed of the Name JESUS.
This is not happening for the first time.It started when the church was birthed @ Pentecost.....' Do not preach in this Name any longer'....was the threat by the religious stalwarts at the time.

*The Name of JESUS & the Bible were taken out of our schools, & replaced with guns porno, drugs etc
* Merry Christmas has given way to Happy Holiday, What next?
Who is to be blamed?

Romans 1:16. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of CHRIST, for it the power of GOD unto salvation.........
We are all to be blamed as long as we put more value on doing promo for politicians, products, institutions etc than for He Who alone is THE WAY ,TRUTH,& LIFE.....
.
THE COST OF KEEPING MUTE OVER THESE SILENT UNDERCURRENTS BY DEMONIC FORCES MAY BE ETERNALLY PHENOMENAL.....He who has ears let him prayerfully reflect on these & be personally determined to lift Him high above all else...He has power to draw men into the kingdom...
STAY CONNECTED TO JESUS TO THE END..

I am always so blessed by your blogs Dr Yoseph!!!! It is so refreshing and encouraging hearing you proclaim the truth. I think Campus Crusade for Christ founder Bill Bright would so oppose this change of droping Christ from there name. He always new and proclaimed who the true source and power of there ministry was... Jesus Christ.!!!
